Anti-Poaching | Conservation Safaris

Through Zunguka Foundation, Zunguka Africa Safaris spends parts of the profits made to fight poaching by teaching and sensitizing local communities about conservation. We empower people on the importance of treating wild animals as a National heritage.

Our foundation also partners and supports the Kenya Wildlife Service by applying a conservation fee to Eco / Conservation Safaris. This fee is later used to buy equipment like GPS collars, drones and night-vision goggle that help KWS guardians carry out their anti-poaching duties.

Zunguka Safaris also plays a major role in fighting poaching and promoting wildlife conservation efforts by working hand in hand with reputable NGOs including the Big Life Foundation and Tsavo Trust.

In the near future, we look forward to working with Ol Pejeta Conservancy Anti-Poacher Ranger Teams and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to preserve and secure the future of endangered species such as Rhinos and Elephants.

Kenya Tourism: Discover the Heart of Africa

Kenya is an East African Country that is recognized globally for it’s rich cultural heritage, pristine coastal beaches, and national parks that have healthy populations of predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and members of the Big 5 such as the elephant, buffalo and rhino.

As of 2026, some of the popular Kenya Safari Tours destinations include; Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo East and West, Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Samburu.

In addition to the safaris, Kenya also offers beach tourism along the shores of the Indian Ocean, Lake Victoria, Lake Turkana and Lake Naivasha just to mention a few. Popular Coastal destinations include Diani, Malindi, Mombasa, Lamu, Kisumu and Watamu jus to mention a few.

Over the past couple of years, Kenya has stood out as one of the Best African Safari Destinations.

In 2025, the Kenya National Statistics Bureau reported that more than 1.88 million tourists visited Kenya. On average, this means that more than 208,000 tourists visited Kenya every month.

Out of 1.88 million tourists, the Kenyan National Parks and Reserves attracted more than 300,000 tourists. Peak numbers were achieved during the festive season.

So, why are Kenya Safaris popular? Why are Kenya Safari Tours better for luxury safari and first-time travelers? Have you ever experienced Kenyan Safaris? In case you are looking forward to experiencing what a Safari in Africa feels like, Kenya should be at the top of your bucket list.

Why Choose Kenya in 2026?

So, why choose Kenya in 2026? why should Kenya Tour Safaris be at the top of your bucket list? why are Kenyan Safari Packages famous?

We as Zunguka Safaris believe Kenya Safaris are amazing because they involve viewing the Big 5 Animals, the Samburu Five, the Wildebeest Migration, the Black Leopards of Laikipia and relaxing by some of the best beaches in Africa!

Big 5 Animals

The Big 5 Animals Kenya

Elephant

Lion

Leopard

Buffalo

Rhino

Kenya Safaris should be at the top of your bucket list because it is home to all the Big Five Animals. The lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros, and buffalo can be observed in a majority of the national parks. These animals have earned this name not from their size but from how challenging they are to hunt.

The lion is the strongest predator of the Big 5 in Kenya, It’s sharp claws, muscular build-up and powerful jaws make it among the most feared predators in the African Savannahs.

Two adult male lions with impressive dark manes walk side-by-side in the golden light of the Maasai Mara, leaning their heads together in a display of social bonding and affection.

The leopard is the most elusive of the Big Five Animals, It is mostly found in the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Samburu National Park. The best time to spot these leopards is during the morning and evening game drives.

Kenya is also a strong hold for rhinos – both black and white. Some of the excellent places to see rhinos include the Lake Nakuru National Park, and Ol-Pejeta Conservancy. These parks are known for their extensive Rhino conservation efforts.

The African Cape Buffalo is often seen in large herds. It is best known for it’s strength and unpredictable behavior. Most tourists consider it as one of the most dangerous Big 5 animals.

Some of the best places to see the buffalo in Kenya are Maasai Mara National Reserve, Tsavo East and West National Parks, Amboseli National Park, and Lake Nakuru National Park

The last member of the Big 5 in Kenya is the elephant. It is the largest land animal on Earth and is known for its intelligence, social behavior, large ears and long tusks.

The Wildebeest Migration

A large herd of wildebeest and zebras splashing through a river during the Great Migration in Africa

Below is table that breaks down the wildebeest migration from July through October.

Generally, the wildebeest migration is one of the most spectacular and breathtaking events to witness during a safari to Kenia because of the dramatic Mara River crossings.

July

October

Herds are Deep in the Serengeti

The Wildebeest Migration is one of the greatest shows on earth. It involves the migration of more than 1.5 million wildebeests, approximately 300,000 zebras and thousands of gazelles from the Masai Mara to the Serengeti and back.

The best time to view this migration safari is between July and October when thousands and thousands of wildebeest are crossing the Mara River.

Upon my last visit to the Masai Mara National Reserve, I was surprised to learn that this river is home to more than 3,000 Nile crocodiles that are close to 15 feet. It is a common myth that these crocodiles eat a heavy meal only once a year, during the migration safari. Through out the year, they snack on fish which does not provide enough calories!

Asides from the Mara River Crossings, the predator activities including lions hunting wildebeests, leopards hunting impalas around and near the Mara River are also worth every minute of your Kenya Safaris.

Kenya Safari Tours are also exciting and adventurous because they offer tourists the chance to spot the Samburu Special Five which include Gurunek, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich.

Over the past couple of years Samburu Safaris have become popular because they offer a ‘Raw Africa’ experience that feels more like an expedition. In case you are not in the mood for a typical safari circuit, you should highly visit Samburu.

Some of the best spots to enjoy a Samburu Safari and spot the Samburu Special Five include the Samburu National Park, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Shaba National Park.

All these animal conservancies border each other and are separated by the mighty Ewaso Nyiro River.

Why are the Samburu Special Five Unique and Famous?

The Samburu Special Five are famous because they have unique evolved features that help them adapt and survive in the harsh arid climate in Northern Kenya.

The Black Leopards of Laikipia

The Black Leopards of Laikipia have become one of Kenya’s major tourist attractions. Thousands of tourists are booking trips from all over the world just to spot a group of 5 black panthers that roam freely in the plains of Laikipia, specifically in the Laikipia Wilderness Camp.

At the moment, the most common and famous black leopard is called Giza Mrembo (a Swahili word meaning Beautiful Darkness) or the Queen of Laikipia.

Recently, we as Zunguka Africa Safaris were able to spot her with a litter of cubs. She is now a mother! In case you are in the mood to see a living myth, the real version of Black Panther, a Kenyan Safaris Tour to Laikipia is all you need.

Despite the fact that most leopards are shy and very elusive, we have the best tour guides who are experienced in animal tracking. Above all, Giza Mrembo is very friendly and she is habituated with vehicles.

Breathtaking & Pristine Beaches

Kenya Safaris to the beach are also worth every coin of yours because Kenya is home to stunning beaches some of which are the best in Africa.

Some of the Best Beaches in Kenya include Diani, Watamu, and Nyali. These beaches are covered with soft white sand and the ocean has warm and clear waters through out the year.

Coral reefs in these beaches make it fun to engage in water-based activities.

In order to have the best experience during your Kenya Safaris Tour, we highly suggest that you should try out our Beach & Safari Combo Packages. They involve touring the wild national parks such as Masai Mara and the Kenyan coastal beaches in 5 days or more. You can also talk to us for customizations!
