Trip Overview
As mentioned earlier on, this Kenyan Safari involves touring 4 places; 2 nights in the Maasai Mara, 1 night in Nanyuki, 2 nights Samburu and 1 night in Nairobi. Below is a brief overview of each of these destinations.
Maasai Mara – Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most famous safari destination. It is also the eighth wonder of the world because of the great migration that happens every year.
During this migration millions of wildebeests cross the Mara River and proceed to the Serengeti when drought starts to creep in the Mara,
Nanyuki – This is another famous destination to visit in Kenya. It is a base for climbing Mount Kenya, home to Ngare Ndare Forest and it is one of the places where the equator passes in Kenya.
Nanyuki is also home to Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is known for its efforts in conserving rhinos.
Other animals that can be found here include;
- Chimpanzees
- Cheetahs
- Leopards
- Spotted Hyenas
- African Wild Dogs
- Elephants
- Lions
- Bat-eared fox
- Black-backed jackal
- Caracal
Samburu – This is arguably one of the best places to visit in Kenya because it is less crowded and offers an intimate vibe and atmosphere while still on a safari.
Asides from the game drive, tourists also get a chance to interact with members of the Samburu Community and learn more about their culture and traditions. This community is famous for wearing colorful beaded necklaces, earings, bracelets and clothes that are made from animal hides and skin.
Nairobi – On the last day, tourists get to tour Nairobi city before departure! This city tour is optional!
During the tour, tourists get to visit the following places;
- Nairobi National Park
- Giraffe Centre
- David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
- Karen Blixen Museum
- Kazuri Beads Workshop
- Visit Local Markets for Souvenirs
Thereafter visiting the above places, tourists will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport depending on their flight schedule.
